Do not be fooled by high rating on Booking!

We booked a room for 3 people through Booking. We chose this hotel because on Booking the rating is high (8,9) and the reviews are all positive, but if you check reviews here or on Google, you’ll find the reviews are more truthful and more accurately describe the real situation. Pluses: - elevator; - there is a terminal for payment by card; - location (not far from the main street where tram #1 runs); - air conditioning in the room; - terrace with a view above the 5th floor; - towels and slippers; - mini fridge Minuses: - the hotel staff rarely answers messages on Booking - there is no trash bin in the room; - for 3 people in the room there were 1.5 rolls of toilet paper, and they gave another roll only when we asked to clean the room on the 3rd day of our stay (the room was booked for 5 nights); - no breakfast; It's better to find a hotel with breakfast because eating in local cafes/restaurants is expensive and untasty; - the windows of the room for 3 persons face a busy street with constant noise of cars, whose drivers love to honk constantly; - noisy; if you don’t sleep soundly until the morning, then without earplugs you will be woken up by cars and noise from the street all night; - the room will be cleaned only if you ask at the reception and if the receptionist remembers to ask the cleaner (there is no door hanger asking not to disturb or to clean) - the Internet often stopped working or worked very slowly; - the bathroom is very small and terribly dirty; The bathroom walls clearly haven't been cleaned since opening; - hair dryer with wires in a dangerous condition; - only one room key card for 3 people; - no laundry service, - no ironing equipment in the hotel; - no safe in the room Over all, if you are not afraid of the problems listed above, then you can stay here, but the hotel is clearly not worth the price that the owners are asking for it. There were other options, with breakfast, also in the same area and cheaper, but we git cheated by the hotel’s high rating on Booking.com.

Rooms are too small, old, run down with mold and grime all over, not like pictures. It's advertised on booking.com as 3 star hotel but on google it's 2 star and it is. Shower is broken in all rooms. Water is either too hot or too cold with bad drainage and the heater didn't work in economic rooms. It's also far from any public transport nearly 15 min walk uphill. so depressing

If it wasn't for the one helpful young man behind the front desk this would of been one star. The first room we were checked into had rotting banana skins in the bedside drawers! We were in the budget section but still, didn't expect to be in a basement stepping over dirty laundry.

Unfortunately the whole hotel smells of cigarette smoke. As we checked in, the staff were sitting smoking which wasn't pleasant as were are both non smokers. This made it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Also the pictures shown when booking were clearly taken a long time ago as the hotel is in a much worse state. There was grime on the furnishings and behind the bed and cupboards had never been cleaned and had a faint smell of vomit. The carpet was old and used and the bathroom was not in a hygienic state. I know this is a cheap hotel but I usually expect a basic level of cleanliness which this hotel did not live up to. Good location to old town Istanbul. Staff ok.

This hotel was a huge disappointment. The rooms were small and no air and dark like dungeon. It wasnt clean at all. There was constant noise from reception as all travellers were complaining. It was far from everywhere u need to walk 15 mins to all transportation plz do urself a favor and stay away from santefe
